Nestled in the heart of Abilene, Texas, Front Porch Coffee Co. & Bakery is a delightful haven for both coffee enthusiasts and food lovers seeking an inviting spot for breakfast or lunch. This charming café artfully combines the warmth of a neighborhood coffee shop with the vibrant appeal of a breakfast and lunch restaurant, making it an ideal destination whether you’re starting your day or catching an afternoon break.
The menu here is a carefully curated celebration of fresh, satisfying flavors. Their Cinnamon Roll is a must-try indulgence—soft, buttery, and generously swirled with cinnamon, it practically melts in your mouth on the first bite. The beloved Avocado Toast elevates a classic with ripe, creamy avocado on perfectly toasted bread, ideal for those seeking a fresh yet hearty offering. When it comes to beverages, the Iced Caramel Macchiato delights with its rich espresso mingling smoothly with caramel sweetness, while the Lavender Lemonade provides a refreshing floral twist that's as beautiful to sip as it is to behold.
On the savory side, dishes like the Grilled Chicken Pita and the Pastrami and Swiss Sandwich stand out, offering robust, comforting flavors perfect for lunch. The Green Chile Quiche offers a subtle kick that plays wonderfully against flaky pastry crusts, though it’s worth noting some items like this and the popular Bagel Bombs might require a bit of patience as they’re freshly prepared to maintain quality. And for those who love something a little different, the Kanafeh, a sweet and satisfying Middle Eastern dessert, brings an exotic flair to the bakery’s lineup.
The dining atmosphere here is exquisitely balanced—cozy yet spacious, intimate yet communal. Many reviewers, including one named Jeon, have appreciated the thoughtfully designed interior featuring a welcoming fireplace and a large group table, perfect for gatherings or solo moments of reflection with a finely crafted latte. The vibe leans warm and inviting, with rustic touches that echo the laid-back charm of a front porch on a crisp morning. One customer described the space as “really cozy” and noted how busy the spot stays even midweek, testament to the café’s steady popularity.
It’s impossible not to be drawn in by the friendly, attentive staff who strive to make each visit memorable. Crystal Turcotte praised the team’s customer service as “just as awesome” as the coffee, and that sentiment resonates throughout the experience. While not every order hits perfection every time—some found the coffee “mid” and waited a little too long for certain items—there’s an unmistakable commitment to quality and atmosphere that keeps guests returning.
From the vibrant Smoothie Bowls like the Mango Spirulina Bowl—bursting with tropical fruit flavors enriched by nutrient-packed spirulina—to the traditional Southern comfort of Biscuits and Gravy, Front Porch Coffee Co. & Bakery offers a menu rich in variety and soul. Whether you’re drawn by their craft lattes like the popular Skinny Van Latte or craving a fresh-baked seasonal loaf, it’s all served with genuine care and a side of Texas warmth.
For anyone seeking a coffee shop that feels like an extension of your own living room but with top-tier drinks and vibrant, thoughtfully prepared food, Front Porch Coffee Co. & Bakery stands out as a must-visit in Abilene. Once you sip their honey lavender latte or bite into their homemade pastries, you’ll understand why so many guests fall in love with this local gem.
Better than Starbucks. Love the atmosphere and specially I loved the coffee I ordered Honey lavender latte which was awesome.
Really enjoyed my brief stop here. They have some season drinks, as well! This location stayed fairly busy even on a wednesday. Interior is very well balanced and cozy. They have a fireplace and a large group table in a separate area of the shop.
I love a good coffee shop. Especially one with a great front porch!!!!! What a cool little shop. In house made syrups and great menu for food and beverage! I had the fireside latte and dang it- I wish I was fireside when I was sipping that lovely latte! I also bought a shirt and I’ve received several comments on the shirt! We will definitely be back!
This place was great! We were looking for some good coffee with a great atmosphere, and customer service that was just as awesome. And thats exactly what we found here. We will definitely be returning
Pastries were delicious and the breakfast sandwich was decent. However the coffee was mid, drip with cream was half and half and the pumpkin spice latte was typical. I wanted the green chile quiche but it would not be ready for 30 minutes or so and I wanted the bagel bombs but same thing with them. Disappointing! So I agreed to a breakfast sandwich instead due to lack of time. The staff was ok but not very explanatory with different types of products, such as 2 different chocolate croissants. Overall a decent breakfast though.
Very nice place. Clean and quite spacious. The atmosphere is calm and the staff is friendly. I got a hot Royal Breve which was really good. Would come again in the future.
